The Dresden Readthrough: Turn Coat
We continue our readthrough of Jim Butcher's uber-popular urban fantasy series The Dresden Files today with book eleven, Turn Coat. The continuing plan is to do a book a month on the first Tuesday of each month, and with 16 books on the publication schedule between now and when our readthrough is over, our reading list should be pretty full for the foreseeable future.
With book eleven, I feel like I'm sort of mired in the same midpoint I was with The Wheel of Time toward the middle, where not a ton is happening and it's getting frustrating. It's not to say it's outright bad like some of the middle Wheel of Time stuff, but I hesitate to call this book in particular good.

The Book Was Better Podcast Episode 90: Poltergeist (with guest host Courtney Coulson!)
This week we scare the crap out of ourselves by reading James Kahn's novelization of the Hooper/Spielberg attacked-by-a-toy-clown classic: Poltergeist! Luckily I'm joined by the intrepid - and virtually fearless - Courtney Coulson, who still, after all these years, is not afraid of no ghost. This film is a classic pants-pisser and yet, could the book actually be better than the movie? This one is going to shock you, folks!

Game of Thrones Season 4 Book Comparison and Review – Episodes 9 and 10
Well, that’s Game of Thrones done for another year. Already people are lamenting the loss of their favourite show and counting down the days to season 5.
Behind the cut I talk about the last two episodes of the season, some of the key differences to the book series and what we might expect to see moving forward.
The Book Was Better Episode 89: The Babysitter's Club (with guest host Lia!)
This week we expose the inner workings, poor financial decisions, and ruthless management of doomed business enterprise The Babysitter's Club, as we trawl through the confusing novelization of the film of the same name! Luckily I am joined by first timer and BSC veteran, Lia, who helps me keep track of which one is the dyslexic, artsy girl, and which one is the paranoid maniac with delusions of grandeur. Sorry we skipped a couple of weeks but we are back with a mighty vengeance!
