When Luke Milton and I aren't reviewing pop culture or making fun of movie novelizations, we're often doing photoshoots with me modelling costumes that I have designed and made myself, mostly based on icons of pop-culture. Cosplay you say? Not quite, don't get me wrong, I love cosplay, but obsessing over accuracy all the time can get a little boring, costumes are all about being creative and imaginative and I prefer to present my own take on a character. Thus I coined the term "Cosplay Couture" and have been experimenting with the concept ever since. Join me below the cut for a more in-depth explanation and some photos of our work so far.

With school holidays still upon us I thought it would be good to review one of the slew of kids films out at the moment. After looking at the films on offer I began to think this wasn't the greatest idea. I don't think anyone wants to read me slamming a film that I'm not even the target demographic for.
With that in mind I grabbed up my two boys, aged 5 and 7, and brought them along to a session of Turbo. Who better to review a kids movie than kids themselves? At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if us older folk like it or not. All that matters is little Timmy enjoys himself.

Today I'm looking at comics released on October 2, 2013:
Forever Evil #2 (of 7) - "If the Justice League lost to these guys, what can the Teen Titans possibly do?"
The evil Earth 3 version of the Justice League, known as the Crime Syndicate, have defeated our heroes and taken over our Earth! However, they aren't completely without opposition...there's still the Teen Titans! Red Robin, Superboy and the gang head to the fallen Watchtower (destroyed satellite HQ of the League) to try and somehow confront the Crime Syndicate and rescue Nightwing! You may recall he was captured in issue #1...even worse, his secret identity as Dick Grayson has been revealed to the World! How can the Teen Titans possibly counter that?
Meanwhile, Lex Luthor is also making plans to confront the Crime Syndicate...he's not one to let ANY "alien" walk over him, whether it be Superman or his evil opposite, Ultraman! Also, there's some intrigue within the Syndicate itself. Owlman and Superwoman have a secret that will definitely provoke the ire of Ultraman if he finds out! Can you think of a worse person to keep secrets from than an evil, angry version of the Man of Steel??
But enough about evil! My top 4 more "virtuous" titles after the JUMP!
A Perth version of the board game classic, Monopoly, was launched this morning. I was lucky enough to be invited along to the reveal at iconic Perth landmark Fremantle Prison.
What Perth spot claimed the prestigious Mayfair spot? More importantly, would the Monopoly guy himself, Rich Uncle Pennybags (yes, that's original his name), be there?
This week’s episode will have you not just hating Mondays, but also Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, as we delve into the wretchedly epic novelization of the lasagna-fueled Garfield The Movie! How can the bland, predictable, two-joke Garfield comic strip be stretched into a feature film, and how on earth can an author write a 200 plus page book about it? Adorable guest host and cat enthusiast Lizzy Unpronounceable and I are sadly about to find out!

This week Luke and Jacinta talk about the mighty voice of dragon Smaug, Edgar Wright's Antman, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Halloween specials, GTA V Online, Hawkeye collection Little Hits, and we get really sweary and offensive at the end. Whack it in your head!
