Supernatural Season 9 - Play by Play and Review (Part 2)

It's nearly time for Season 10 of Supernatural to start! Maybe you are wondering what happened next season? Needing to decide whether to tune in against or not? Supernatural Season 9 Play-by-Play and Review (Part 1)

I’ve decided to wade through the quagmire of season 9 of Supernatural. I am not sure if this is a mistake anymore, I can’t stop. Having finished season 8 and regaining a mixed sense of familiarity, enough of a detachment to try to ignore the bad things in the newer seasons and enough interest in the end of that season, I have decided to stumble on. This review will be much like my season 8 review; going step by step through the storyline and making comments and observations as I go. Supernatural Season 8 Play-by-Play and Review

Supernatural was a big part of my life for a very long time and made me a lot of friends. There was something wonderful about mixing the stories of urban legend and terror that I loved as a child with the quest for identity and the complicated nature of family relationships. Sam and Dean Winchester, raised as warriors after their mother was murdered when they were young and their father descended into a quest for revenge, are at times heroic and inspiring and at other broken and vulnerable. Following their journey has for the most part been fantastic. The show was supposed to be 5 seasons long, and to be honest, after that first 5 seasons the tone completely changed. Sam and Dean weren't themselves anymore, they weren't people I loved and identified with. After watching season 6 and 7 through gritted teeth I concluded that I couldn't go on and left it alone.

I still firmly believe that the show I loved ended at the end of season 5 and ended satisfyingly. Having distanced myself from those characters and that story, I recently delved back into season 8 (season 9 is currently screening in the United States so it's been a while) to see whether I could enjoy the show again and to give you fine folks a review.

Music and Television: My 10 Most Memorable Musical Moments in Television

I’ve been researching a lot of music recently and discovered that there predominantly I am exposed to new music through my television viewing rather than the radio (unless it’s local music).

Music in television has a powerful affect on the viewer and often makes a scene that could have been good absolutely brilliant.

I’ve put together a list of my 10 favourite musical moments in shows that I love. Some of these moments have been hugely emotional in their respective shows and changed the course of the plot and certainly the character development moving forward. Some are lighter moments or include credit sequences that set the mood of the show and make you excited to watch.

Many of these shows have really great musical soundtracks in case you are keen for some new music!

20 Best Supernatural Episodes Season 1-5

This weekend in Sydney and Melbourne The Hub Productions hosts the fourth All Hell Breaks Loose Supernatural convention. Having attended the last three and had an absolute blast, I am really sad that I cannot make it over this year. I’m sure there will be plenty of stories about the Supernatural sing-a-long, the show and the six guys that The Hub is bringing over this year.

As far as I'm concerned, Supernatural ended at season 5. It’s never been the same for me and so I have compiled a list for the con-goers this weekend; 20 of my favourite Supernatural episodes from seasons 1 – 5 in season order. Have fun guys!

Nerd History: Emilie Sagee and her Doppelganger

One of the little nods to real world things in 172 Hours on the Moon was the story of Emilie Sagee. A French teacher, she lost numerous jobs and had significant trouble because of numerous reports of her having a ghostly-ish doppelganger.
