Pre-Order Hot Toys Jim Gordon and Avengers Hulk Maquette!

Our dear friends at Sideshow continue their noble quest to beat the crap out of your credit card with two new hard-to-resist items fresh out of their fun oven. Up for pre-order is an exclusive Hot Toys Lt. Jim Gordon S.W.A.T. suit version 1/6th scale collectible figure featuring an uncanny likeness of old man Gary Oldman in The Dark Knight...

And if that didn't get you frothing enough, here's a 2 feet plus Hulk maquette from The Avengers, kind of like the one they used on set except this one is wearing pants. This seems to be the definitive piece for Ruffalo-Hulk enthusiasts...

More images and commentary after the jump, but if you're already convinced you can pre-order Jim here: Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series Jim Gordon (SWAT Version) The Dark Knight - Hot Toys
and Hulk here: Marvel (R) Collectibles Hulk Maquette

By the way, this is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what's coming out. At Ani-Com these past couple of days they just showed the Hot Toys Anne Hathaway Catwoman, James McAvoy Professor X, a new Hugh Jackman Wolverine, the Mark Webb Spider-Man unmasked, plus their Mark VII Iron Man and 1/6th scale Hulk. No official images have been released yet, but we'll show them all when they're up for order. I'm pretty much ready now to put most of my other collecting on hold so that I can purely focus on these guys.

Here's more Jim Gordon, ready to bust up some Joker...

I think the S.W.A.T. outfit was a pretty good idea and makes him a lot less bland than he could have been. Although, of course, the star of this piece is the head sculpt.

And seeing as how a lot of special internet morons are currently engaged in intelligent Batman Vs. Avengers debate, to balance things out here is more of that wonderful Ruffalo Hulk...

And check out this ugly mug...

I really like that this Hulk is kind of ape-like and hideous. Especially the tiny nose and huge upper lip which is very reminiscent of the original Kirby artwork. I recently rewatched Edward Norton's Incredible Hulk and the CGI model used there completely suffers by comparison. That Hulk looks like he belongs in a boy band.

Lots more soon!

  1. HOLY SHIT GARY OLDMAN. That really is unnervingly accurate.
