Monday Morning Catch-up

It's amazing how much the real world can get in the way of one's blogging responsibilities. I've had a lot of little things to share that, at this point, might just be easier to bring about in one big post. Some of the videos may not be 100% safe for workplace consumption, so you've been warned...

Follow(?) Friday: 50 Sheds of Grey

Every once in a while, a book takes the nation by storm and it becomes a cultural icon. Every once in a while, however, it takes its form in a rewritten Twilight fanfiction involving various forms of sexual escapades.

Instead of being horrified, however, we can celebrate with the great parody Twitter, 50 Sheds of Grey. Describing itself as "[e]rotica for the not-too-modern male," the Twitter feed is part salacious shed porn and part biting commentary on our most carnal desires.

Of course, if this is not your thing, we can all agree that the safeword will be "unfollow," but I trust you'll be willing to expand your horizons and your storage space.

Real Time Tweets From The Titanic Disaster

For the past few days @TitanicRealTime tweeted the events of the Titanic voyage in real time... just 100 years later. I found out after the fact, but wish I found out sooner because I would have stayed up all night reading along. Yes, I'm a sucker for event live blogging.. even if it's a semi-fictional recreation of an actual event that isn't "live" in any way, shape or form. Either way, this was REALLY COOL and REALLY WELL DONE.

Click through the jump for a full breakdown of every perspective that was offered, or read the entire timeline at http://twitter.com/TitanicRealTime. The same group, @TheHistoryPress, is also doing a Whitechapel investigation live tweet session in August of 2013, but here's hoping these happen sooner and more often.

Follow Friday: Samuel L. Jackson Is A Bad Ass M......?

There are many reasons to follow @SamuelLJackson on twitter, but the most important one of all is that he will teach you how to spell! Dude has used the word "motherfucker" in about half of his 265 tweets, and has not spelled it the same way twice.

Check out many, many more variations of the "M" word after the break.

He's only 5 tweets in to his brand new account... but if he keeps this up, I'll be following him for sure.

Socially Awkward Podracer Ben Quadinaros Is Now On Twitter!

I don't know if all of the podracers, have twitter accounts and I don't care. I just saw that Ben Quadinaros, the socially awkward podracer (Wookieepedia said it, not me) is now tweeting away.

If you need a refresher.. Ben Quadinaros is this guy.

Follow @BenQuadinaros on twitter, and see more of his tweets after the break.

Follow Friday(?) - Skyrim Mom!

Skyrim Mom is a Twitter account that compiles quotes from the mother of Bethesda's Nick Breckon. His mother is 65 years old, loved Red Dead Redemption, enjoyed Fallout 3 enough to make a spoon rest in tribute (pictured above), and is probably the cutest lil' dragonborn you're liable to hear about this week. If anything, she'll have a lot of stories to tell her Dovahkids about!

Follow Friday(?): Horse_ebooks

I'm going to be up front with you guys right now: I have no clue what's going on with @horse_ebooks on Twitter, but whatever it is, it's...something. The website that it lists in its profile seems to be a dump of ebooks about horses (naturally), but the actual Twitter feed is one of true majesty.

Every hour or so, a pearl of wisdom drops that cannot really be fully understood. When @horse_books tells us that "Most people know that AdSense isn t [sic] profitable anymore," we all may nod in solemn agreement. When @horse_ebooks informs us that "Knives should be sharpened and balanced with great care, and should then be," we all wait with bated breath to find out what is never to come next. The entire feed is filled with such sugar cubes of wisdom.

Perhaps we are all being trolled on a massive level. Maybe it's less sinister and it's just a spambot gone wrong. Perhaps @horse_ebooks is being autobiographically correct that "The Rich Jerk Has Made a Fortune Using This Exact Method." I'll keep watching to find out, though.
