Rap + Video Game Themes = Awesomeness

There are few things I like more than a good mashup. I also like rap music, and I like video games. So when good rap music is combined with good video game music? Well...

Beyond the jump, enjoy some great rap/video game mashups, and share some of your favorites in the comments if you have any.

There appears to be a minor cottage industry of mashing the theme from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air with video game music. Along with the one at the top, these are my favorites. Some are good, some not so good, but you could spend a whole afternoon listening to them.

While "Chronic Trigger" is really the best use of Snoop Dogg's "Smoke Weed Every Day," my love of these sorts of mashups came about thanks to the Kirby/"Drop It Like It's Hot" mix above. The original just doesn't sound right without the Kirby music anymore.

Say what you want about Souljah Boy, but I think Kirby makes everything better.

Not a big fan of Ludacris overall, but there's something truly epic about using the Dragon Age: Origins music along with him. I loved this.

Jay-Z is really the master, and you know he'd be the king of the Mystic Cave Zone if it really existed. Still think this should be called "99 Rings," but what do I know?
