Review: Hot Toys Loki (The Avengers) 1/6th Scale Collectible Figure!

Hot on the shiny armoured rocket-heels of the Mark VII Iron Man follows another highly anticipated Hot Toys release to tie in to The Avengers, however, this time it's a villainous one. Meet the meticulously detailed, 1/6th scale rendering of Loki, God of lies/mischief/evil and brother to the Mighty Thor (adopted). Time to kneel...

Seriously, this late in the game these reviews are such a no-brainer. You already know that I love them, right? Just look at that crazy picture! Hot Toys are at the top of their game!

Raiding the Avengers Wardrobe

You may remember Luke's post from a while ago about his Black Widow costume collector cards, featuring little snippets of Scarlett Johansson's costumes from Iron Man 2 and The Avengers (probably the bits that touched her butt, but I guess we'll never truly know). I'm sure that you, like me, thought 'Oh, Luke. That's so weird. Why would you want to own something that probably touched ScarJo's butt? Stop being weird Luke. You weirdo'.

As I am a curious beast, I thought I'd have a little look on eBay to see what other costume parts were available (not that I'd buy any of course, because as we've already established, that's WEIRD). It was less than five minutes before I was hitting Buy It Now like a crazy fangirl. A crazy WEIRD fangirl.

I mean, how did I ever live without a card featuring a picture of Jeremy Renner awkwardly grimacing and containing a piece of Hawkeye's uniform? I DON'T KNOW. Sadly, this was the first of many as I quickly spiralled out of control, caught in a memorabilia-buying frenzy. Sigh. Join me after the cut for the rest of my Hall of Shame.

The enigmatic geniuses at Hot Toys have revealed the next in their 1/6th scale (the) Avengers line and it is Loki: God of Mischief! Scorned son of Asgard and smiter of mewling quims everywhere!

There should be no doubt at this stage as to how detailed and accurate it is, in fact I was the only one with the steely resolve to post about it as it had our female team members all a quiver...

Loki'd!

In the post-Thor/War Horse/Avengers haze, the ladies of Fruitless Pursuits have developed quite the taste for the dapper English gentleman behind Loki, Tom Hiddleston. Doing my duty as a pop-culture enthusiast meant I OBVIOUSLY had to sift through the 'Tom Hiddleston' tag on Tumblr which is where I found this little gem.

From MTV After Hours (I think), it starts off a little awkward and ends up totally bizarre. A WEIRD dapper English gentleman, perhaps.

The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Perverts

Unless you have been living under a rock (or have no interest in the movie) you've probably seen photos of the 'on location' filming for the Avengers that took place in New York a couple of weeks ago. Being the good fangirl pop culture enthusiast that I am, I thought it was really my duty to scour the internets for photos of boys (and one girl) in superhero costumes, being like, totally cute.
