Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar Spectacular: Day 1

Its time for that fantastic time of year where we count down to the greatest holiday ever! In years past, we have done so with epic adventures and advent calendars, but what about this year? WORRY NO MORE GENTLE FRIEND! I present to you the Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar Spectacular!!!

Join us after the jump as I try to figure out how to open this.

Day 1

First, its best if you play this youtube clip while you read to get you in the mood:

To start, what do we know by looking at the front of the box? It definitely seems to be a mix of prequel and OT films based on the fact that mini-figs and the variety of ships on the box. It also looks like we can poorly recreate scenes from Hoth, Bespin, Endor, the attack on the Death Star, and....something from Episode 2 where Yoda shows up with a shit-ton of clones.

Opening the cover to the calendar, we find a heart-felt, Fight Club inspired scene where Luke and Yoda are holding hands from a window watching space explosions.

The top half is where our ADVENTure takes place (won't be using that too much since we all have to play Luke a dollar whenever we say it.)

The door to day 1 depicts a battle between Slave 1 and the Millenium Falcon. Will this door hold something that has any relevance to this iconic scene that never happened?

I REALLY DON'T KNOW! so its time to read the directions and put it together.

Ok, looks to be a Correllian Cruiser, so....

Pretty exciting stuff, huh? But I do have a concern

See, it came with some extra parts. This may explain why it couldn't outrun the star destroyer in the opening scenes of Ep IV, but we will never know.

Show up tomorrow to see what we have next!

  1. Hopefully you get extra parts each day and at the end you can make up your own Star Wars ship.

It's Lego so you can really do that anyway, but still!
