Big Brother Power Rankings: Finale Recap

The finale of Big Brother was last night, and, given the final three, there weren't really any surprises.

Big Brother Power Rankings: The Final Three

With the last week of Big Brother generally devoted to evicting two more people in preparation for the final week's three-part Head of Household competition, things generally slow down in the House itself. This season, with an alliance in place and one person being unaware of it, it made for a slow, predictable week.

Big Brother Power Rankings: Double Eviction 2: Eviction Boogaloo

I love Double Eviction Night so much. This one was less dramatic in terms of results, but definitely moreso given the craziness that lead up to it and the fact that so many people were hoodwinked along the way. With two weeks to go in the game, we may as well dive right in.

Spoilers for the new Head of Household are within.

Big Brother Power Rankings: Hitting the Home Stretch

Well, the hope last week would be for a lot of excitement in the House, and it didn't disappoint. We have a new eviction, a surprise new Head of Household, and a double eviction on the platter for next week, so let's get right down to it.

NOTE: There are spoilers for this week's Head of Household beyond the jump. If you want to refrain from being spoiled, check back Sunday!

Big Brother Power Rankings: The Jury Return

Well, the week of Aaryn as HOH has ended, and we had another endurance competition to go along with the return of an evicted houseguest! All things considered, there wasn't a ton of drama this week for the exception of the game of one houseguest falling apart, so we should get right into it.

WARNING: Beyond the jump includes spoilers on the new head of household and the returned houseguest. This will be televised on the Sunday show, so if you're waiting...

Big Brother Power Rankings: Past the Halfway Point

Ah, Big Brother. It is strange this season how the House has effectively coalesced into one unit set on ousting one person every week. While it doesn't make for interesting gameplay, it does make for effective, impressive gameplay. So here's the quick-and-dirty:

Big Brother Power Rankings: DOUBLE EVICTION MADNESS

Double eviction week on Big Brother is always exciting, and this week's was no different. We got a surprise HOH win, an epic blindside, and the power shifts in the house are pretty significant right now. There's a lot to get into right now, so let's just jump in. By the way, there are spoilers for this week's Head of Household, so if you're waiting until the Sunday show to find out, bookmark and come back later.

Big Brother Power Rankings: Week 6

Another week down, another eviction, another surprising power shift. We also had an endurance challenge for the Head of Household this week, so there be spoilers beyond the jump! Be warned!

Next week, by the way, is DOUBLE EVICTION. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN. I love Double Eviction. If you've never watched the show before, next Thursday is the day to do it.

Big Brother Power Rankings: Week 5

We're up to week five for the Big Brother Power Rankings, and this was probably the calmest week of gameplay we've had in the House until pretty much right before eviction, and the new HOH is both unexpected and ultimately doesn't matter given the situation in the House. If anything, this season is showing how unpredictable this game can be. Onward!

Big Brother Power Rankings: Week 4

Another week out of the way. Considering how crazy the first few weeks were, it was kind of strange to see things basically move in a straightforward, drama-free direction (first night following the Head of Household competition notwithstanding).

As we enter the reign of King Judd following the fall of Jeremy, let's take a look at the rankings:

Big Brother Power Rankings: Week 3

This is my fourth Big Brother season, and the last three weeks have been crazier than anything I've ever had the opportunity to watch. Things are nuts, and it's almost becoming pointless to try and predict what's going on. The MVP twist is both super predictable and is creating absolutely unexpected results, the house racism watch is off the charts, the alliance everyone thought was strong fell apart in a matter of hours, one houseguest is finally showing the promise she hadn't delivered on...

Let's just get to it, since it's clear I have no idea what I'm doing.

Big Brother Power Rankings: Week 2

In terms of first weeks in the Big Brother House, this one's been a doozy both on and off the regularly televised show. We have alliances everywhere, showmances galore, Hitler appreciation, garden-variety racism - when they say "expect the unexpected," they weren't kidding.

Some notes:

* Big Brother is moving to a format where evictions will happen on Thursdays beginning next week. Thus, Power Rankings going forward will be on Fridays.

* This week's Head of Household competition went over the allotted broadcast time. In weeks like that, I will be checking spoiler sites to find out who won in order to project the week.

So for some details on the week and more, let's take a look behind the jump:

Big Brother Power Rankings: Week One

So the houseguests are in, we got a closer look at a lot of the players, and we've already crowned the first Head of Household. Plenty of spoilers for last night's show beyond the jump.

For clarity if you're a superfan who trips up on this and watches the After Dark show and live feeds: I generally do not. The rankings are based on what happens on the televised shows three nights a week, although I do tend to take a lookback after the shows have aired to get some back story. So the rankings will never factor in something that hasn't aired on television yet, but may later factor in things that don't get televised after the fact (example: if Aaryn and Jessie have an argument on the live feeds but not the show proper, that won't be factored until later).

Enough shop talk, let's get to how the show went.

Introducing: The Big Brother 15 Power Rankings!

I'm not too much of a reality TV guy on a whole, but I have one exception: Big Brother. The 15th installment begins next Wednesday, so I figured it would be a fun game, given that there's 16 contestants and a ton of twists, it would be fun to do a weekly recap and a power ranking.

The show is kind of insane, if you haven't heard of it. This season, they have 16 people who don't know each other who will enter a "house" and compete for a grand prize at the end of the summer. Each week, the guests elect a Head of Household (who cannot be evicted), the Head of Household (or HOH) nominates two people for eviction (which might be three people this season, stay tuned!), and a competition occurs to have an opportunity to veto one of those nominations every week. Quickly, houseguests form alliances with each other to gain voting strength and do their best to control the house. It's absolutely nutty.

The show is appointment television for my wife and I. Playing on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays throughout the summer, plus with 24 hour live feeds (which I don't follow because I know I'd accomplish nothing but watch them all day long), there;s a lot happening. So, every Thursday (except for two weeks in August, when I will likely be posting on Saturday), I'll be posting a Big Brother Power Ranking! We'll see who's doing well in the House, who's floating along, who's looking to go home, and who should have already gone home. I hope that you'll get as addicted to this show as I do, and maybe we'll get some good debate going.

CBS has already introduced America to the contestants, so we'll meet our Houseguests beyond the jump. First recap is next week!
