Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar Day 9: Assaulted.

It's day 9 of the Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar and we are experiencing a minifigure drought! It's drier than the plains of Tatooine, a Bantha's ballsack, Obi Wan's wit, or Aunt Beru's husk. Where are all our smiling, studded-headed heroes? Will it rain today, or are we lost in the desert?

Let's pry open Door Number 9 and hope for the best...

And... it's... a...

SONOVVA -

Well... I guess we got one of those then. One of those nondescript, grey, triangular things. Hooray! Thank you, Lego. This will look amazing on my shelf next to the white nondescript blocky thing and the roundish brown thing from before. "What on earth are these strange things?" my friends earnestly ask, their pale faces a mask of concern. "Have you ever seen Attack of the Clones?" I cheerfully offer. They shake their heads sadly, resting a comforting hand on my shoulder. Tears of pity stream down their cheeks.

Assuming it even matters at this point, this is supposed to represent a Republic Assault Ship. You know, one of those ships that the Republic used to... uh... assault things. If you have been assaulted by a Republic ship, please seek assistance. There's probably a hotline you can call. Oh, and this thing is from Attack of the Clones. Have you ever seen Attack of the Clones? Oh! Well let me tell you all about it...

Next time, right?

And for those keeping score, each day I pit this calendar against the Playmobil Jurassic Park one. And I'm afraid that Playmobil wins again today. Lift your game, Star Wars!

  1. This is an Acclamator Class Republic Assault Ship. The predecessor to the Venator Class Star Destroyer, which in turn was the predecessor to the Imperial Star Destroyer.

We are apparently getting this calendar for different reasons. For me, the micro models that makes sense are awesome, where as some random bounty hunters speeder is needless. These are great for creating miniature planetary assaults.
