Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar 2013 Day 4: Godzammit!

It's day 4 of the Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar, an intergalactic treasure trove that seems dedicated to celebrating Attack of the Clones, a film about star-crossed lovers and an irrational hatred for sand! Oh my god! What if some of these doors are filled with sand? I HATE sand! It reminds me of my unhappy childhood being a technological genius and winning races.

Let's break the seals on Door Number 4 and see what's inside...

And... it's... a....

Well this is an easy one - there's only one vehicle with that garish colour scheme! This is Zam Wesell's speeder from the chase scene through Coruscant at the beginning of Episode II

Do you remember Zam Wesell? She's the purple-clad shape-shifter bounty hunter lady who is working Jango Fett until he decides to murder her about 20 minutes into the film. Before AOTC came out everyone was acting like Zam was going to be some sort of memorable character, but despite her reasonable amount of screen time she is pretty much forgotten. When was the last time you saw Zam Wesell merchandise or Zam Wesell cosplay? Exactly. Although I would have preferred a Zam Wesell minifigure.

That speeder chase scene summons bad memories too. Obi Wan is acting like a stuffy, overbearing uncle in an old drawing room comedy with his blustering, "Blllarrrgh! Anakin! You dropped your lightsaber, you scallywag!" and Anakin has that sleepy-eyed, stoner/stalker low-voiced, "I'm sorry, Master" with an idiot grin. Arrrrrrgh! No. Stop it at once!

And for those keeping score, each day I pit this calendar against the Playmobil Jurassic Park one. And today Playmobil is clearly the victor due to its ridiculously large and extravagant gift! You were pimp-slapped, Lego!
