  1. Fantastic! very well summed up. I will say though that the directions are completely worthless if you skip over the first page thinking its just a contents overview, since it also tells you what each of the different types of cards are and do. my own fault but all the same frustrating

  2. this sounds a LOT like age of empires. the computer game. As yet I haven't tried the more-epic-than-epic board game.

  3. I played this game once and have had the itch to play again ever since. It's probably going to be my next big game purchase.

Also, I love the switch to 1 image! Now we can read through without interruption. Nice touch.

I have the epic Age of Empires board game, but I've never played it. Just looking at the instructions manual intimidates me.

  4. Taylor - Thanks! Of course every rulebook is useless if you skip sections. ;)

Suzanne - Yeah, it kinda is, although the conflict isn't very direct. I think you will like it? I hope so anyway.

J - Yeah, AOE3 has the worst rulebook I've tried to deal with yet, I think. Jess and I have played it twice, and I still don't know how to play it.

  5. Knowing that, I will probably never play it. I've heard such great things, but I'm an impatient old man. I've thought about selling it a few times now.

  6. We offered our in a recent math trade - I am pretty sure I'll list it for sale at our local game group too.

(Oh and thanks on the 1 image comment - not sure why it didn't occur to me to do it that way in the first place. :P)
