Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar Day 19: Been There, Done That.

It's day 19 of our bumpy ride through the Star Wars Lego advent calendar - which actually gave us a very cool biker scout yesterday, causing my old heart to grow three sizes in my chest. But Lego loves following up something great with something truly dreadful...

So let's carefully pry open Door Number 19 and see what we've got...

And... it's... a...

Come on... rack your brains... It's... a... Separatist Shuttle!

Now this is doubly obscure and interesting because we've had one of these before. Last year we got a far more awkward and abstract, ugly version of this ship in its tan movie colour. It's the ship that ferries wheezing disappointment General Grievous to Geonosis (odd because his own personal starfighter is also there). Last year I dubbed it the Shite Shuttle, and it was clearly one of the worst and most confusing gifts we were dumped with.

Now this one is far superior in just about every respect, except it's blue and grey, not tan. Why? Because it's the version that appeared in the animated Clone Wars.

It's also had a minifig scale set made of it in the past. Does this knowledge make this gift any easier to stomach? Hell no! Enjoy Shite Shuttle 2: The Shittle.

And for those keeping score, each day I pit this calendar against the Playmobil Jurassic Park one. And I'm horrified to inform you that Lego still gets the point, simply because the Playmobil calendar has suddenly turned horrid. Unbelievable!
